234 arrests following 187 immigration enforcement raids in Northern Ireland

Some 234 people have been arrested following 187 immigration enforcement raids in Northern Ireland.
It comes amid numbers of raids across the UK deemed the highest on record, up by 77 per cent.
This is leading to an 83 per cent rise in arrests between July 2024 and December 2025.
Businesses, including nail bars, car washes, barbers and takeaway shops, were among those targeted.
They were targeted in more than 17,400 raids UK-wide, which resulted in more than 12,300 arrests.
This Government has increased enforcement to record levels, and the message is clear: there is no heading place for those flouting the lawIt follows a £5 million (€5.7 million) funding boost last year for Immigration Enforcement, to target and pursue illegal working criminality.
