A 12-year-old has been taken to University Hospital Waterford this afternoon, following an incident in Tramore.
Tramore RNLI was paged at two minutes past 5 this afternoon, following reports there was a child in the water at the lower-prom.
The crew were alerted by emergency services and were at the scene at 9 minutes past 5.
The 12-year-old was recovered, around 200 metres from the shore.
The lifeboat brought the child to the pier and they were subsequently taken by ambulance to University Hospital Waterford.
Tramore RNLI wants to thank the child's friends, who called 999 and alerted emergency services.
