Blood donors in the Waterford area are asked to consider attending a clinic in Dungarvan next week if at all possible.
The Irish Blood Transfusion Service (IBTS) will be at Lawlor's Hotel from Monday April 11th to Thursday 14th, between 3.45pm and 7.40pm.
The IBTS says supply is low and there's big demand from hospitals.
Operations director of the Service, Paul McKinny says hospitals are using a lot of blood as they are now trying to catch up with procedures that were delayed or canceled because of the pandemic.
An appointment system is now in place at all blood donor clinics to ensure that people feel comfortable. Those who wish to donate are asked to wear masks.
