Tramore's annual Vitamin Sea Festival kicks off tomorrow.
The three day event, organised by Taste Tramore, will see a range of food, wellness activities, and tours.
This year is the second year of the festival and organisers are hoping to celebrate the natural resources and local businesses in Tramore.
In Victorian times, September was traditionally the month when holiday makers visited Tramore to soak up the iodine-rich ‘warm’ waters at this time of year.
Building on the health and sea-inspired heritage, the festival features a weekend-long programme of taste trails, coastal excursions and collaborations.
Events range from ticketed to free and there are many that are suitable for families. Some events are sold out though so it's advised that you book in advance.
Highlights for families include a treasure hunt, sand art workshop, and an adventure with musical tales in association with Tramore Library.
Other highlights see both sunset and sunrise yoga sessions, a paddleboard lesson, and a The Hod Pod's mobile sauna.
The event will also will help local businesses extend the season and stay trading for a little bit longer.
Taste Tramore was founded in June 2019 when Reckless Chef owner Bernie Power brought together a group of likeminded Tramore based food and drink business owners to explore the idea of creating a voluntary entity to really promote Tramore as a 'Foodie Destination.'
Taste Tramore aims to showcase the wide variety of award winning and quality cafes, restaurants, producers, pubs and take-aways in the town in addition to the traditional and well-known
beach fish and chip.
