Liz Truss has resigned as prime minister after just 44 days in office.
The announcement, made by Truss outside Downing Street, follows the near-complete loss of her political authority which has seen her crash the markets, lose two key ministers and shed the confidence of almost all her own MPs.
Truss will be the shortest-serving prime minister in UK history. Where to from here ?
Meghan Markle.
Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, has reflected on how it made her feel to be "objectified" and reduced to "all looks and little substance". This happened during her time as a model opening briefcases on the game show "Deal or No Deal."
Meghan spoke about her experience of being one of 25 women on stage opening briefcases as part of the game show in her podcast "Archetypes" .
James Corden.
The host of the Late Late Show in the US was temporarily barred from Balthazar in Manhattan on Monday after allegations that he had been “extremely nasty” to staff on two separate occasions.
The manager of Balthazar, Keith McNally, then rescinded the ban on Tuesday after claiming to have received a call from the star.
Mr McNally said “all is forgiven” after reportedly getting an apology from the actor and comedian.
He wrote on Instagram: “James Corden just called me and apologised profusely. Having f***** up myself more than most people, I strongly believe in second chances. Sean gives his thoughts.........
