The Enchanted Garden, at the Lafcadio Hearn Japanese Gardens in Tramore, opens on December 3rd.
Now in its sixth year, The Enchanted Garden will comprise twinkling lights, animal sculptures, dramatic tree and foliage lighting with special effects to create a "magical winter wonderland."
What visitors can expect at The Enchanted Garden
This year’s theme will be New Beginnings, reflecting hope for the future and for our planet.
Visitors to the Enchanted Garden young and old will walk via a one way system through a winter wonderland. There will be an opportunity to meet the Winter Fairy or stop by the open fire and enjoy Hot Chocolate or Gluhwein.
Hidden fairy doors light up for this special event and a selection of carefully chosen classical and enchanting music will fill the air.
What are the opening hours?
The Enchanted Garden runs from the 3rd December 2021 to 9th January 2022 and is open 4pm to 8pm (Wed to Sunday) weather permitting. Online Booking is now at available through the Lafcadio Hearn Japanese Gardens website, or tickets can be booked directly from the gardens.
The event is closed on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, St. Stephen’s Day and New Year’s Day and on nights of extreme weather. Organisers ask that you check the Facebook page and website for updates before going to the event.
Booking for January will open in mid December and the running of event will be subject to Government Guidelines and Covid regulations.
All proceeds from The Enchanted Garden will go towards the ongoing development and maintenance of the gardens. Local volunteers will steward the event for the season.
