Ray Recommends: November's Irish music picks from The Shift
Hello readers, Ray C here with some of November's Irish music picks from The Shift
The year is almost out and I want to thank everyone from the world of Irish independent music who submitted music to me over the last year. Our country is bursting with class talent. I will be doing a special Waterford edition next month so make sure you check back at the end of December. Now on with the tunes!
Kaya T – Body & Mind
At just 24 years old, Dubliner, Kaya T has been performing since she was five on some of the biggest stages in the country including The Olympia Theatre. She only released her debut single ‘Flight Mode’ back in September and at the end of November she followed it up with the excellent Body & Mind. It’s a brilliant piece of RnB/Pop which I think you will dig.

Michelle Grimes – Servin It Up
Limerick Pop singer and multi-instrumentalist Michelle is no stranger to the stage you may have spotted her on Irelands got talent a few years back. Michelle has performed in Trafalgar Square to over 20,000 spectators as part of ‘Pride in London’, has sung for the King and Queen of Belgium as well as singing for The Taoiseach and the U.S Presidential party in June last year when they visited Ireland. This is a Disco Pop party hit.

Lisa Murray – Woman In A World
This is the 4th single I have received from Lisa since late last year and it’s a totally 180 to the last 3 which have been more pop and synth orientated. This time round Lisa has stripped it back to hard hitting ballad and it’s brilliant.

Sorcha Durham – Fireside
This is the Dingle natives debut solo single but she wouldn’t be no stranger to your ears having been a main songwriter and keyboard player in one of Irelands biggest exports of the last decade, Walking On Cars. Fireside is a great debut release and I’m looking forward to hearing Sorcha new 4 track EP in 23.
