365,000 people are without power across the country. However the ESB warns this may rise to 500,000.

Public transport services have been cancelled until tomorrow morning at 5am.

At 7.40pm this evening (16th October), the storm is tracking northeastwards having already passed over Galway and Mayo.
Many roads remain impassable in Waterford with trees down on many roads across the county.
