As part of the celebrations for this years St Patrick's Day, Waterford City and county Council ran a short story competition for children aged between 6-18.
They were tasked with writing a story of no more than 500 words, beginning with the line "I will never forget what happened on St Patrick's Day...."
From the hundreds of entries there were three winners in three separate age categories. Each winner received a 50 voucher and got the opportunity to read their winning story out on-air on WLR on St Patrick's Day.
The winners were
Age 6-9: Cian Mulhall Waterford City
Age 10-14: Clara Wemyss Waterford City
Age 15-18: Eoin O’Brien Waterford City
