Olivia Cromer made these 'Trolls' inspired pumpkins with her fanatic cousin Mia Kirk (2 and a half).

Sinéad Hehir said there wasn’t a pumpkin to be found all week in the shops so not to disappoint three little boys they decided to make their own. They created a giant pumpkin lantern which we illuminated at night to get into the Halloween festivities at home.

Sinead Violet sent these pictures in of an 'ET ' Pumpkin made for 8month old Elliot Brazil and 'Gizmo' made for 6-year-old Oliver Brazil.

These are just a flavour of what people across the county have been getting up to ahead of the festive season.

Waterford City and County Council's Chief Fire Officer Niall Curtin is asking people be cautious of fire hazards in their homes this Halloween.

He has this advice: "We're seeing quite a lot of Halloween decorations so we just need to be a little bit cautious. If you have decorative lighting keep an eye and that and when it's not in use plug it out.

"Lighting candles and lighting an open fire is common at this time of year and it can pose a particular hazard especially when there are kids wearing long flowing costumes that could ignite.

"If we could try and keep kids wearing costumes distant from candles and the open fireplace as much as possible it will make Halloween much safer."
