Waterford man on surviving Covid-19 - Deise Today Tuesday 26th May

Tom Gallagher from Waterford spent 66 days in University Hospital Waterford with Covid-19. He and his brother Trevor were both on ventilators, while two other members of their family also contracted the virus back in March. He tells Damien Tiernan about the experience and what it was like to come out the other side of it.

Damien also speaks to Marie Cummins who has been fundraising for The Hospice. Waterford company Bausch & Lomb presented her with a cheque for 10,000. Shirley Russel from the company also joins Damien to speak about the work that Marie does.

And members of St Pauls pigeon club call for the sport to resume as it is a solitary sport.

Yesterday marked the one year anniversary since the death of Garda Dave Hearne, the 47 year old father of 4 who died during a diving accident. Damien speaks to Dave's mother Gemma who says the family have been taken aback by how many people have contacted them to say that he had helped them during the course of his career.
