Waterford gets ready for Storm Lorenzo - Deise Today Thursday 3rd October

The county of Waterford was preparing itself for the arrival of Storm Lorenzo, which was downgraded from a hurricane but which was still expected to cause major damage once it made landfall. Damien Spoke to Fergus Galvin, Director of services for roads, water and environment with Waterford City and County Council. He warned people to exercise common sense once the storm hit.

Damien was also joined by Stephanie Taheny, Director of the Waterford Hospice Movement about their frustration at the delay in opening the new Palliative Care Centre at University Hospital Waterford. As well as John Church who reacted to the shocking story that more and more young children are sharing sexually explicit images of themselves online, despite all the warnings.

Also in part 1 Eoghan Corry, leading travel journalist spoke to Damien about the possibility of banning alcohol on flights to tackle the increase in unruly behaviour of passengers on flights.

In Part 2 of the show Damien spoke to Green Party Councillor Marc O Cathasaigh about the Green Party leaders suggestion of the re-introduction of Wolves into Irish wildlife. He was also joined in studio by Waterford humanist Teresa Graham who spoke about the controversial subject of assisted dying.

Finally Jack Walshe from Hanntec Engineering had some tips for listeners in terms of securing their homes and businesses against the threat of burglaries.
