Less than 15 staff at UHW have contracted Covid19 - Deise Today Thursday 23rd April

On today's show Damien is joined by Grace Rothwell, the manager of University Hospital Waterford, who tells Damien that fewer than 15 staff members at the hospital have contracted Covid-19 and none of the cases were contracted at the hospital itself.

Damien also speaks to Imam Rashid Munir from the Al-Munir Islamic Centre in Waterford as Ramadam gets underway tomorrow. The muslim festival is a time for family and community get togethers but how will the community celebrate with the Covid19 restrictions?

Damien chats to some more residents from Lemybrien and Dungarvan about their experience of isolation. And chats to Mary McCarthy in Manor Lawn who is 80 today and is celebrating with her twin sister Joan Murphy who lives in London.

In the second part of the show, ASTI representative and guidance counsellor at Waterpark College Paul O Reily discusses the impact the lockdown has had on schooling. The junior certificate has effectively been cancelled and the Leaving Certificate has been moved to the end of July.

The manager of Tramore racecourse Eoin Byrne tells Damien of the devastating effect the ban on mass gatherings has had on the racecourse and the industry as a whole.

And while people are coming up with inventive ways to exercise during lockdown, Anthony Phelan, owner of Advance Physio on The Dunmore Road, has advice for people exercising at home or taking up running for the first time.
