We celebrate 25 years of Fr Ted - Deise Today Friday 17th April

Throughout the show today we will be remembering the best bits of Fr Ted, which is 25 years old today. We ask you for your favourite episodes and later Damien will chat to actor Jon Kenny who appeared in the show.

First up Damien speaks to Dr Geoff Plant about the latest medical advice in relation to Covid-19.

Also newly elected Waterford TD Matt Shanahan is in studio to discuss the possible formation of a new government.

Brian Kelly from Peter Marks has tips on how to keep your hair looking luscious during lockdown.

And we pay tribute to the Late Jimmy Searson, one of the founding members of Ferrybank FC and former chairperson of the Waterford Junior League, who passed away yesterday in his 90th year.

In the second part of the programme we look at what businesses are doing to survive during this outbreak. Jenny Beresford from the Dungarvan and West Waterford Chamber, as well as Michael Garland from the Waterford Retailers Group, discuss a Chambers Ireland report which showed 43% of businesses in Waterford have closed, while 60% say they expect Covid-19 to affect revenue and the average they expect revenue to be impacted by is 40%.

Glenn Sheridan the manager of Meadows and Byrne in Waterford (formerly Tommy Hillfiger) tells Damien about a Facebook group that he has set up for Waterford businesses who have moved their trade online to survive.

Also Laura Finnegan, a lecturer in WIT in the department of sport and exercise, tells Damien about her PhD in talent development in Irish football, and the Football Research Group she has established in WIT.
