On Friday, 23rd of February, the annual Waterford Business Awards will take place in Faithlegg House Hotel in association with Waterford Chamber, WLR and Waterford City and County Council , celebrating the best in Waterford business across 10 categories. In each category, 3 local businesses are shortlisted, and every day on WLR in the lead up to the gala awards ceremony, we’ll be putting the spotlight on a different awards category:

ARDKEEN QUALITY FOOD STORE
Winner of both Best in Retail and Waterford Business of the Year 2017, Ardkeen Quality Food Store is an independent food retailer that adds a unique element to Waterford’s retail landscape. Founded by Robert and Pamela Jephson in 1967, the business is now owned and run by Colin, Kevin and Gerald Jephson. Ardkeen has grown and evolved with the community over the years but remains committed to key relationships with customers, suppliers and staff. This has enabled the business to source better foods from smaller suppliers, remain competitive and deliver great customer service. These key points of difference enabled the business to thrive in a local market dominated by international brands.
CAULFIELD'S SUPERVALU
Caulfield’s SuperValu is one of the largest SuperValu groups in Ireland with stores in Waterford, Kilkenny, Bandon, Malahide and Merchant's Quay, Cork. The Group, which was established in 1979, also owns three Shopping Centres is headquartered at the Hypercentre, Waterford. Having been founded on traditional family values and customer loyalty, Caulfield’s SuperValu continues to be a family run business today with the local community at the very heart of their ethos and business model.
REDLANE BOUTIQUE
Thirteen years ago Catherine Keighrey took a chance and opened the doors of Redlane Boutique in Tramore, a town which then was considered to have very little footfall. By constantly reinvented themselves, in both bricks and mortar and digitally, Catherine and her team have ensured they ahead of the curve and are now one of the busiest, most unique and progressive boutiques in Ireland, with a customer base spanning all corners of the globe. This month sees the launch of Feel Good Friday, a fundraising initiative for local charities, offering free well-being activities in store while you shop.
