Deise Today Monday October 7th - Facebook and other social media companies affected by new ruling

On Monday's Deise Today Damien heard the details of the tragic light plane crash in Co Wexford which claimed the lives of two men. Damien spoke to Padraig Byrne from the Wexford People about the incident, as well as Padraig O Griofa who knew one of the men involved.

Damien also heard the story of an 85 year old woman from Dunmore East who spent 40 hours on a trolley in UHW.

Hillary O Neil from the 'SEPAG' cardiac campaign group told Damien of a 50 year old man who had to be rushed to Cork hospital over the weekend.

And Donal Murphy, a Dunhill-based farmer, spoke about the problems that Ragworth is causing on his farm and to the farming community in general.

In the second part of the programme Damien spoke to Susan Gray from the Parc Road Safety Group about how some people are getting away with driving offenses.

The recent ruling, that all social media companies can be ordered to take down illegal, banned and defamatory posts, was discussed with online security expert Graham Mulhearne.

World Mental Health Day, which is coming up on the 10th of October, was detailed by Peter Kelly of Brooke House, who told Damien about details of what will be happening locally.
