Over €1.1 million was paid to Waterford councillors last year.
The figure is just under €100,000 more than during 2020.
The Register of Payments to Councillors for 2021 shows around €696,400 was paid in the standard allowance for a representative.
And €333,000 was paid in Annual Expense Allowance - despite the restrictions and lockdowns of the previous year, this is only about €13,000 more than 2020.
When it comes to the allowances for 2021's two Mayors, €30,000 was the total paid, with 6,000 going to the Deputy Mayors.
€30,000 was also spent in allowances for the chairpersons of the council's Special Policy Committees, while just over 16,000 went for Training and Conferences.
And €8,300 was spent on mobile phone allowance.
