Great day for the Irish
Colm Bairéad’s An Cailín Ciúin (The Quiet Girl), a small-budget Irish-language production, has been nominated for best international film at the Academy Awards. Great Waterford connections with this movie and a great buzz around it.
With nine nods, Martin McDonagh’s The Banshees of Inisherin broke the record for most nominations for an Irish film. Paul Mescal competes in best actor for his performance in Charlotte Wells’s Aftersun. Colin Farrell, Brendan Gleeson, Kerry Condon and Barry Keoghan all get acting nods for Banshees.
Say Cheese

Cheese fans, rejoice! If you wish you could make money off of your passion for all your favourite cheeses, you'll love one recent job listing from Sleep Junkie. The company, which is focused on sleep research for your best night of zzzz's, is conducting a study that requires participants to eat cheese, cheese, and even more cheese.
