On today's Lunchbox Geoff caught up with Gavin Byrne who plays 'Da' in 'What Would Ma Say'. What Would Ma Say is a nostalgic and poignant reminder of a Dublin that’s long gone. It captures a situation that affected so many families in Dublin at the time, a proposed move to a new estate was extremely daunting and the sense of being “so far away” from the inner city is explored. Hilarious in parts yet the feeling of hardship and reality of the time is captured, encapsulating the Dubliner use of humour even in the most stark situations.
The play is on in Garter Lane this Saturday at 7:30pm and there's still tickets available.
