Wildcats and Vikings close out 2023

The Waterford Wildcats ended their year with a win last night, beating the Trinity Meteors 89-79 in Stillorgan, claiming fourth in the Super League Standings.

Jade Compton was top scorer for Tommy O Mahony's team on 43 points, with Sarah Hickey on 14 and Nae Davidson shooting 11.

The visitors trailed by four at the halftime buzzer but fought back to reel in the host's lead before outscoring them in the final quarter to take home a ten-point win to close out the calendar year.

The Vikings remain in tenth after their curtain closer with the Portlaoise Panthers at the SETU Arena.

Dean Kavanagh was without three of his choice starting players but maintained touching distance to their guests right up to the third period when they trailed 52 to 47. Heading into the final quarter of play, the Viking's legs started to tire and the Panthers took over the game to win 99 to 62.
