Waterford's Wildcats secured a sensational win in the dying seconds of last night's Women's Super League clash with Killester.

With only 8 seconds remaining, they were losing by one point but a wonderful display from Jasmine Walker saw them clinch the win by a point with no time for Killester to respond.

The 68 to 67 win means they've claimed 3rd place in the League.

Head Coach Tommy O'Mahony says it was a fabulous display from his side:

"I think it was our best team-performance throughout the year. Killester are a top side - they scored 120 points last week - and we kept them to under 70 in the finish, which was an achievement in itself.

"But I thought people really stood up at different times in the game.

"We were down a point with just seconds to go and Jaz Walker stepped up and hit a shot.

"But it wasn't just Jaz, it was Rachel, Abbie, Steph, they all stood up when they had to and it was a great team-performance."

Tommy says the focus will shift now to next week's important game:

"You know, that's the end of the League now. We finished 3rd so we've got a quarter final - I think it might be against Liffey Celtics.

"We've got to put in a big week's work. There's definitely a league title in us so we've just got to put in a lot of work throughout the week and we should be fine for Saturday.

"But I'm delighted with that team-performance and we've just got to carry it over into next now."
