A poor defensive performance from the SETU Waterford Vikings on Saturday night saw them go down by 30 points to a much more slick SETU Carlow side at the Cork Road sports hall.
The Vikings gave their Carlow counterparts far too much respect, leaving them too much time and space to play.
Dean Kavanagh's team played without their top scorer Jack Ryan but the 93 points to 63 defeat should not be attributed to one player.
Following that result, they now find themselves 11th in the First Division standings and fifth in the Southern Conference, while Carlow have now climbed to fourth in the overall league table.
The Vikings are at home again next Saturday night when they take on St Paul’s Killarney in the SETU Arena.
