"They are a well balanced side" John Kiely on The Nire

"They are a well balanced side" John Kiely on The Nire

Former Waterford football boss John Kiely believes that The Nire will capture the Conway Cup for the third year in a row.

Michael Ryan's men start their title defence with a repeat of last year's county final against Rathgormack on Sunday evening at 6 o'clock in Fraher Field. "They are a well balanced side and they work really hard," Kiely told WLR's Lár Na Páirce show. "I would tip them to go all the way and win the county title. I think they'll start on a good note on Sunday evening by beating Rathgormack."

Kiely was impressed by midfield pairing Sean Walsh and Tholom Guiry in that final. "They gave one of the best midfield exhibitions I saw in a county final in a long time. Young Walsh made seven or eight high fetches and young Guiry made three or four as well. The two of them were outstanding in Lár Na Páirce."
