Déise ladies football boss Pat Sullivan is calling on Waterford supporters to get behind his team in Sunday's must-win game against Meath in Fraher Field.
After last weekend's defeat to Donegal, the Déise need a victory to stay in contention for the All Ireland quarter finals.
Sullivan says that the players are giving everything for the county. "Pre-season started back in November. There's players juggling the college game and trying to do that as well. We have five girls on the panel doing their Leaving Cert. We're doing three nights a week on the field and two nights a week in the gym. I have girls coming down from Dublin, from Limerick and from Cork three nights a week. We had players last week who were down in Dungarvan on the Tuesday night, down in Dungarvan on the Thursday night and returned back to Dublin and returned to Limerick. Then, 11 o'clock on Friday morning they were on a bus to Donegal and returned on Saturday night at 11 o'clock. Five players got on the bus that were doing their Leaving Cert. They studied in a hotel in Donegal on Friday, played on Saturday and travelled back down the road and went in and did exams on Tuesday morning. The commitment is just amazing from this bunch of players. We're so lucky with what we have and that's why I'd really ask the Waterford people to support them on Sunday."
