Waterford underage coach Kieran O'Gorman and Dungarvan Leader GAA writer Mac Dara Mac Donncha picked their players of the senior hurling championship on Friday's Lár Na Páirce show.
O'Gorman went for Tommy Ryan, Jack Prendergast and Gavin O'Brien. "Tommy and Jack were exceptional on teams that were struggling for a lot of the year. Gavin O'Brien was unbelievable for Roanmore. There were plenty others. Micheal Harney was outstanding for Dunhill. Obviously, Dessie Hutchinson. Who is having his best year for Ballygunner in a while is Pauric Mahony. He really looks sharp."
Mac Dara Mac Donncha selected a standout performer for Mount Sion. "Stephen Roche is having a fabulous year at midfield. With Evan Curran, they are forming a strong midfield partnership. As for Tommy, some of the scores he got were outrageous. When you hear a gasp from a crowd first and then a cheer, you know there has been a special moment. Jack has carried Lismore in a lot of games."
