Dual star Annie Fitzgerald will juggle both codes this weekend.
The Gailltir forward will line out with the Waterford footballers on Saturday in Donegal and then make the trip down to Limerick the following day to play with the Déise camogie team.
"She is an incredible athlete," camogie boss Sean Power told WLR Sport. "We're very lucky to have someone of that sort of capability within the county. Hopefully she gets through the game against Donegal on Saturday and hopefully we win that game as well. From Annie's point of view, isn't it great that we can accommodate her like that and that the games aren't clashing on the same day."
In his time as Waterford minor hurling manager, Power allowed dual players like Conor Gleeson, Tom Devine and Kevin Daly tog out with the footballers. "I've been criticised for it in the past. I love the idea of elite athletes in the GAA that are able to play both, that are they allowed, as much as possible, to play both in Waterford. We need it. We don't have a wealth of resources that we can cast off players that are capable of playing both. In my time with players, I can see that it works."
