Séamus Power has moved up to third place (-9) at the Zozo Championship on the PGA Tour in Japan.
The Touraneena man carded a superb 8-under-par round of 62 overnight which included 8 birdies and no dropped shots across 18 holes.

He sits 9 under overall, three shots off the pace currently set by Colombia's Nico Echavarria on -12.

Power was delighted with his second round showing.

“Obviously, when you shoot 62 - most things go your way. It was interesting because it was kind of an unusual start, I ended up having to make a good par save on 1, 2 & 3. From there on, it was a lot of good stuff and everything felt pretty good. It was good yesterday but I just couldn’t make the putts. Today was much better on the greens. I really like the golf course, it’s my first time being here and I’m really enjoying it.”
It was a huge improvement for the West Waterford man following an opening round of -1 69.

He says he got to grips with the greens on Friday and was pleased with his putting performance.
“They’re good but they’re tricky - I mean there’s a lot of slopes. I had a short putt on number 12 from probably four feet and I probably had six inches of break and you don’t want to leave it above the hole. I was able to make that one but coming in I had some uphill ones and the surface was excellent even though they were soft. I got a lot of good chances and hopefully I can knock in some more of them again tomorrow.”
