Seamus Power settled for a 74 for the third round in succession at the Augusta Masters - as he entered the clubhouse on +6, in a share for 36th place.
The Touraneena man has carried himself impeccably in a maiden major tournament, where the sole aim has been achieved in making the cut and fulfilling the 72 holes.
Were the 35-year-old to make it into the top 12 by the close of proceedings this evening, then he could be certain to pack his bags for Atlanta, Georgia again in 2023.
World number one Scottie Scheffler leads the field on -9, with Cameron Smith (-6) and Sungjae Im (-4) in pursuit, while Shane Lowry is seven shots behind Scheffler on -2.
Rory McIlroy also makes the top ten on T9 on +1. Seamus tees off at 9.30pm Irish time this evening in the company of Kevin Na, and says it's been a real learning curve to date.
"It was a lot of the same, to be honest. I hit a lot of good shots but it's tough to make birdies out there - at least I'm finding that! I hit some good shots on the back nine, on twelve and fifteen - just one of those days. I haven't been able to make one of those odd 20-footers to keep me in it, but a nice little birdie at the last to bring me back for tomorrow."
Power was inches from an amazing albatross when his second shot cannoned the flagstick at the second, and it bounced so far away that the Touraneena man could only make par.
"I hit the pin on my second shot today and I still couldn't make a birdie. Simon [Keelan] and I are talking - coming over the last few holes, what we're learning, this and that. We played with Marc [Leishman] today and I was seeing what he was doing on some of the holes. Today was just tough going, learning a lot of things - greens definitely had a little more speed today. It's good fun, we're going to have more fun again tomorrow."
Offaly man Shane Lowry is seven shots back in a tie for fourth and speaking after his third round, Seamus was hoping that inclement weather would play into Lowry's hands.
"The greens are definitely a little quicker so you've got to play it in the proper spots. With the temperature dropping, winds high - it's going to be difficult, maybe that might play into Shane's hands a little bit. We've grown up playing in this, but we've never played courses like this in the wind. It's gonna be a battle, guys will get good and bad breaks. Down the bottom of the course on the back nine - you're going to have to hit some very good shots."
