The Waterford county board will hold talks with Croke Park officials next week about the redevelopment of Walsh Park.

Ahead of the provincial draws on Thursday night, chairman Paddy Joe Ryan says that there's a possibility that Waterford could nominate a home venue for next year's Munster championship if the ground isn't ready.

Meanwhile, Fraher Field has been closed due to roof damage caused by hurricane Ophelia on Monday. Paddy Joe Ryan said that there was an assessment carried out yesterday and hopefully they would be able to get the ground back up and running as quickly as possible.

The county board Chairman also stated that the senior football championship will take priority following Sunday's county hurling final.

He apologised to clubs at last night's board meeting for the delay in completing the championship.

Tom Flynn from The Nire has been ratified as Waterford minor and under 20 football manager for 2018.

Gary Morahan from Portlaw will take charge of the Waterford minor hurlers alongside selectors David Robinson, Michael Mahony, Kevin Daly and Martin Allen.
