Rathgormack advanced to the quarter finals of the Waterford SFC with a comprehensive 3-16 to 0-4 win over St Saviours at Walsh Park.

Stephen Curry, Michael Curry and Ronan Elliffe all found the net for the 2019 champions. Michael Curry was marvellous at midfield with 1-2 while Billy Power and Conor Murray shot three points each from play.

Six different players got on the scoresheet in the opening half as the green and red raced 1-11 to 0-1 ahead at the break. Stephen Curry rippled the top corner of the net on 22 minutes after he was set up by Jason Curry and Willie Hahessy. Kenny Hassett's side should have added a second but James Power fired wide after Stephen Curry intercepted a short kickout. Jason Curry claimed four first half points (three frees) while Billy Power and Conor Murray got two each.

Darragh Corcoran struck the opening score of the afternoon for Saviours from a third minute free but that was as good as it got. The Waterford attacker supplied all four points for Emmet Doherty's side (three from frees).

Michael Curry palmed to the net for Rathgormack's second major on 43 minutes. The Déise midfielder dominated both boxes. Conor Murray then crashed a shot off the crossbar after a defence splitting solo run.

Substitute Ronan Elliffe was fouled for a penalty but Jason Curry shot left and wide. Elliffe goaled nine minutes from time as both sides emptied the benches. Rathgormack could even afford to replace goalkeeper Paudie Hunt towards the end.
