Waterford FC striker Padraig Amond has been named in the 2024 PFA Ireland Men’s Premier Division Team of the Year.
The Carlow native has scored 13 goals this season, second only to Pat Hoban of Derry City.
He is the only Waterford FC player named in the squad which features players from six different clubs.
Shamrock Rovers and Derry City lead the way with three players each named in the 2024 PFA Ireland Men’s Premier Division Team of the Year.
The champions’ top scorer Johnny Kenny, midfielder Dylan Watts and defender Josh Honohan have all earned a place in this season's Team of the Year, as voted by the players having been announced this morning.
Current league top scorer Pat Hoban also makes the 11, alongside teammates Michael Duffy and Mark Connolly, while there are two places for current leaders Shelbourne with captain Mark Coyle and Waterford native Paddy Barrett also included.
Elsewhere, Galway United goalkeeper Brendan Clarke gets the nod, with St Patrick’s Athletic captain Joe Redmond also earning his place.
In a post on social media, Padraig Amond said he was "really proud" to have been voted in by his fellow players - something he described as "a great honour."
