Olympic lightweight Champion Kellie Harrington will receive the Freedom of Dublin at a ceremony tonight.

Harrington, who won lightweight gold for Ireland at last year's Tokyo Games, says she feels a 'huge sense of pride' to be honoured by her home city.

Harrington was in Waterford yesterday to visit St Christopher's Cancer Care Transport, as part of SPAR’s Community Road Trip, which rewards clubs for the good work they do locally.

Speaking to WLR Sport, the Portland Row native said while we may only have 11 Olympic gold medals to our name, she feels that we are on route to increasing that number in the coming years.

"I am in a small group, and we haven't had much in the past, but I think we will [have more in the future] with the way sports science is changing, I think we will have a lot more [medals] in the future, and I look forward to welcoming them on board."

"It's absolutely amazing to be a part of it - and no disrespect to any other county, but it's even more amazing to be a Dub doing it. I'm so proud of where I'm from, I'm so proud to be a Dub.
