Cyril Farrell is glad to see Tadhg De Burca back at the heart of the Waterford defence. The Clashmore/Kinsalebeg man starred in the ten point win over Tipperary last Sunday.

"Not alone is he a great hurler, he's a leader," Farrell told WLR's Lár Na Páirce show. "He's a spiritual leader, the players look up to him, the crowd look up to him. When he catches that ball and comes out through a forest of players. Every hurling person all over the country is delighted to see him back. He is one of the icons of hurling at the moment. It's a great to see a lad going up in the air, catching a ball and bursting out and laying off the ball. He always seems to do the right thing with the ball. He picks long range points and it gives a great lift to the team and the supporters."

Stephen Bennett shot 1-16 for Liam Cahill's men in a man of the match performance. "He's a scoring machine. Not alone is he scoring the close in frees but some of the long range stuff is unbelievable. He's at the top of his game and he's enjoying his hurling. Waterford are the real form team of the league so far."
