Gailltir are Munster intermediate camogie champions for the fourth year in a row and the fifth time in six years as they defeated Knockavilla Kickhams 1-11 to 0-11 in Mallow this afternoon.
Alannah O'Sullivan netted the decisive goal for the blue and navy on 47 minutes while top scorer Aoife Fitzgerald shot six points from placed balls. Centre back Clodagh Carroll was named Player of the Match.
Ciara Jackman saved bravely from Rebecca Farrell as Knockavilla piled on the pressure towards the end. Eimear Heffernan hit seven points for the Tipperary side.
Midfielder Shauna Fitzgerald said it was their toughest provincial final. "God, Knockavilla brought a battle there that we haven't met in a long time. It was up there the All Ireland this year with St Rynaghs."
