It was an incredible day to be a fan of Waterford hurling.
While the players weren't able to secure the Liam MacCarthy for a third time, they did put in an immense effort in a thrilling game.
It's believed roughly about 30,000 supporters traveled up for the day to support the lads. Here's some gathered with the WLR FM team at the Croke Park hotel.

Meanwhile, a considerable amount of Déise fans were congregating in the Apple Market to watch the final.

It was a special day for the match commentary team for WLR too, with it being the 25th anniversary for The Big Game Live and Kieran O'Connor (in the middle here, with Stephen Frampton and Tomás McCarthy either side of him).

Ultimately it wasn't to be for the lads, but we won't forget their effort. Well done to Derek and all, and we'll be right behind you for next year too!
Today, it wasn't to be.. but the whole city and county is beyond proud of Derek's amazing team. Up the Déise! pic.twitter.com/JKdnPMWFpq
