One week removed from setting a PB time over 3k indoors, Kate Veale has gone and done it again as she displayed some scintillating early season form in Abbotstown.
The West Waterford athlete has retained her National Senior indoor 3k title in some style, making it 6 consecutive titles.
Kate finished in 12.40.46 earlier this morning at the National Championships, shaving a further nine seconds off her time from last weekend in Nenagh.
This makes it National title number 20 for Kate, having won her first over 5k in 2016 at 16 years old.
Veale is on fire, and it's worth remembering that the first round of Olympic qualifiers in 2023 is coming up this June.
Elsewhere in today's action, Jake Bagge, representing Ferrybank AC, won his heat of the 800m in 1.57.05, while and Eoin Kenny of Waterford AC took first in his 400m heat in 49.30.
Jake has qualified for the final on Sunday, while Eoin will go in the semi-final of the 400m later this evening.
While Lucy Holmes of West Waterford finished third in her 800m semi-final in 2.14.86, sending her through to the decider tomorrow.
