West Waterford's Kate Veale and Finn Valley's Brendan Boyce came second in a landmark event held in St. Anne's Park, Raheny yesterday.
Boyce and Veale finished second at the first-ever Marathon Race Walk Mixed Relay ever held in Europe.
The event - part of the World Athletics World Race Walking Tour - took place in Raheny with Boyce and Veale going through the 42k in 3:11:48.
The Marathon Race Walk Mixed Relay is now on the Olympic Games programme.
