Waterford native John O Shea has left his role as first-team coach at Birmingham City.
The former Man United and Ireland defender was recruited by former United teammate Wayne Rooney to be part of his ill-fated tenure at St. Andrew's.
Rooney lasted just three months in the job, securing 6 points from a possible 45. He was replaced by Tony Mowbray who had made it known that he was content to retain the services of O'Shea but following defeat to Swansea City, O'Shea informed his manager of his intentions to leave.
"He's going to go off, spend some time with his family and look for the next opportunity. I wish John all the very best, he's a good man and good company," Mowbray said.
