Waterford's Jayson Molumby fired a 96th-minute winner for West Bromwich Albion yesterday in their EFL Championship clash at home to Sheffield Wednesday - lifting his side into the playoff positions and into fifth place.

Molumby's late flick from a Mikey Johnston corner lifted the roof of the Hawthorns as he found the net for the second weekend in a row, securing a vital 2-1 success for Tony Mowbray's side.

West Brom had taken a late lead in the 74th minute through Adam Armstrong but a 93rd minute equaliser from Callum Paterson seemed to have secured a point for the visitors - until up stepped Jayson Molumby.

West Brom can further consolidate their play-off push on Wednesday night when they play host to 6th placed Blackburn - a win would move them five points ahead of their promotion rivals.

Leeds and Sheffield United currently occupy the automatic promotion positions, while Burnley and Sunderland are also in the playoffs as things stand.

Just seven points seperate fifth-placed West Brom and 14th-placed Millwall in what has been one of the most tightly-packed seasons in recent memory.
