Waterford senior hurler Jamie Barron says capturing the Liam McCarthy cup is the final challenge facing the team.
The midfielder scooped the award for Adult Hurler of the Year at last night's County Board GAA awards which were held at Lawlor's Hotel, Dungarvan last night.
The event saw Ardmore named Hurling Team of the Year, with James Flavin named underage hurler of the year.
There were also awards for footballers Billy Power and Donie Breathnach at underage and adult levels.
Speaking to WLR's Gavin Whelan at last night's event, Jamie Barron said that an All Ireland title remains the final frontier for the senior hurlers.
"Year on year we've built more and more," he said, "I think the last bit of progress to make is winning an All Ireland. Hopefully next year and in the coming years we'll be in a good place to challenge for that honour."
