Former Déise attacker Michelle Ryan says that Emma Murray will be one of Waterford's key players in the All Ireland Series this summer.
The Comeragh Rangers number six has scored ten points from play so far this season. "I have to say from the very first game I played with Emma Murray, I knew she was going to be a star. I remember in 2015, she got a yellow in a final in Parnell Park and she was absolutely devastated. But she played with such tenacity. That was back then and she plays with it now. We've seen how dangerous Emma Murray is when she pushes up the field. She got scores galore in the league. She covers every blade of grass and is able to take up a marking duty as well."
Pat Sullivan's team make the long journey to Lifford on Saturday to take on Donegal in round one. Ryan thinks that they can pull off another upset. "I see no reason why Waterford can't go to Donegal and get a victory. I know Donegal managed to overcome a fancied Armagh side who were Division 2 winners. But having watched Waterford, I really do believe that they can go up there and get a victory."
She believes that Waterford can reach the All Ireland quarter finals. "That should be the least of their ambitions to my mind."
