History made on the international stage by Waterford Martial Artists

The Pat Rockett Martial Arts Academy is reveling in multiple victories this afternoon including a historical win for one young fighter.

They currently have participants competing in 3 different countries over the weekend with sisters Caitlin & Mia Kelly taking part in the WKF Karate Junior World Championships in Venice, Italy, a further 12 athletes competing in Frankfurt, Germany at the ICO World Kickboxing Championships, and 15 competitors hoping to win medals in the WUKF European Karate Championships in Warsaw, Poland.

It has been a big day so far for Pat Rocketts Academy with several big victories for young Waterford athletes. Emmet Cusack, taking two individual European gold medals, the first time ever an Irish athlete has won 2 WUKF European golds at a single event.

 

Amelia Butler & Tommy Delaney both took home a World Kickboxing Title, Amelia also coming away with a silver medal at the same event today.

A big win also for Brooke Sherlock as she won gold in Frankfurt today.

 

All 3 events are ongoing and will continue tomorrow. Coach Pat Rockett has high hopes of increasing the wins on the world stage for the young Waterford athletes representing Ireland.
