Conor Murray heaped praise on Rathgormack team mate Jason Curry after his man of the match performance in Sunday's county final.

“Jason is a class footballer. His heart. If everyone knew how much that man cares about it; he lives and breathes Rathgormack. I’m just delighted for him. He got a bit of stick over the last few years for missing frees in finals. That doesn’t matter. He proved to everyone today what a good footballer he is, what resilience he has and we’re just lucky to have him in our team.”

This victory meant more to Murray than his first Conway Cup success four years ago. “It’s sweeter. Definitely sweeter. After the last three years, it’s hard to put it into words. It’s what you play for. Pure relief and happiness. Seeing people that have trained you all the years coming up. People who have been there with us the last three years and never stopped supporting us. It’s what you play sport for.”
