Davy Fitzgerald has invited Stephen O'Keeffe back on the Waterford hurling panel.
O'Keeffe last lined out for the Déise in the 2020 All Ireland final loss to Limerick at Croke Park. In 2022, the Ballygunner shot stopper was named man of the match in the county final against Mount Sion and made four stunning saves in the All Ireland semi final defeat to Shamrocks.
"There's no question, we've talked to Stephen," Fitzgerald told WLR Sport after last night's win over Tipperary. "He knows that we'd like him to be part of our squad. We have two great goalies there at the moment. We have talked to him. We'll see over the next few weeks. Stephen will make up his own mind. He knows that we'd like him back. At the end of the day, the only one who can make that decision is Stephen himself. Trust me, we're not in a bad position goalkeeping wise."
O'Keeffe ruled out an inter county return when he spoke to WLR in October.
