Local rivals Lismore and Ballysaggart will do battle for the first time in the Waterford SHC at 7.30 tonight.

Lismore are top of Group A with two wins out of two while Saggart are facing a relegation play-off.

2015 All Star Maurice Shanahan has scored 5-25 in two games for Lismore. Former Waterford minor and under 21 coach Kieran O'Gorman was full of praise for the sharpest shooter in the county on Friday's Lár Na Páirce. "I've said it many times that he is the best performing club hurler in Waterford with the last ten years. He is not showing any signs of stopping at the moment."

Tony Ryan, GAA writer with the Dungarvan Observer, predicted an upset. "I was very impressed with Ballysaggart in the two games that they played. I think this will be a very close game and if I was asked to pick one over the other, even though they are at the bottom of the table, I would edge towards Ballysaggart."
