Waterford manager Davy Fitzgerald was delighted with Jamie Barron's performance in last Sunday's draw with Dublin. It was the first time the Fourmilewater man completed a full inter county game since the 2021 All Ireland semi final.

"To look at Jamie on Sunday was unreal. I said it to him a week or ten days ago 'you're coming back to yourself.' I hadn't seen Jamie that way in a good few years, that's being totally honest with you. He has been hampered with injury. This is the first time in a long time I've seen Jamie really back to himself. He is one of our captains, he is one of our leaders. I thought he was inspirational the way he was. If I can keep him like that, he'll be some asset to us going forward. It was really great to see. He scored two points, he could have come off the field with 1-4 or 1-5."
