With the cut made at the US Open, Seamus Power will have the full weekend to play in Boston and can mark his card as having seen out three major tournaments.

A second-round 70 has kept him on 1 over and within 6 shots of the lead.

While the course was proving to be a real challenge for the field on Friday it wasn't the only thing that Seamus had to deal with. His playing partner Joohyung Kim did everything he could to slow down the pace of play, to such an extent that they were on the clock from the seventh hole. Power's caddie Simon Keeling was instrumental in keeping him calm and not letting the frustrations seep into his game.

Having had problems around the turn on Thursday, a remedy was quickly found yesterday as he hit 10, 11, and 12 with a par-par-birdie treble to settle the early nerves. While he did drop two across 16 and 18, there was a salvaging birdie on 17 to stem that tide.

A level par front nine (having started on the tenth) was welcomed as he made the cut with some to spare. It was his putter which saved the day more than once as he holed shots ranging from 9 to 45 yards - something he will be hoping for more of on Saturday when he tees off at six o clock Irish time.
