Gailltir will go in search of their fourth Munster intermediate camogie title in a row on Saturday when they take on Tipperary's Knockavilla Kickhams in Mallow at 12.30.

The blue and navy lost the 2020 All Ireland final to St Rynaghs earlier this month. "It was very hard to take," Aoife Fitzgerald told WLR's Lár Na Páirce show. "We have to give credit where credit is due, they are a very good team. It wasn't our best performance of the year but we regrouped straight after the match in the dressing room and we said that we really have to push on for the coming weeks. We got in the recovery on the Sunday and the Monday and went back training on the Tuesday and really drove it on."

Fitzgerald is familiar with one of the opposition forwards. "Eimear Heffernan is playing college camogie with us. She's flying at the minute in fairness to her."

The Gailltir top scorer is enjoying her new role in the half forward line. "I love the space. From under 14 up, I played at full forward. In my younger years, when I played with the boys in Passage, I was full back. I'm delighted to pick up ball and leave it in whenever I can. I love getting on the free ball."

She is on the frees this season and is putting in plenty of practice ahead of the big day. "I'm lucky to be living right beside the Passage field. My younger sister Emma comes up and practices with me. She's on juvenile teams with Waterford so she's eager to practice them as well. She's on the minor and under 16 teams. She's mad to be helping me out."
