Waterford's Kelyn Cassidy heads to Thailand today for a two-week training camp as he bids to secure his spot at the Olympics later this month.
The Saviours Crystals boxer forms part of a seven-strong Irish team looking to join the six Irish boxers who have already booked their place in Paris.
There are three Olympic spots up for grabs in Cassidy's 80kg weight class.
The competition gets underway on May 24th.
Here are the seven Irish boxers attending the multi-nations preparatory camp in Hua Tin, Thailand:
Womens:
50kg: Daina Moorehouse, Enniskerry BC, Wicklow.
54kg: Jennifer Lehane, DCU Boxing Club, Dublin.
66kg: Grainne Walsh, St. Mary’s BC, Tallaght, Dublin.
Mens:
51kg: Sean Mari, Monkstown BC, Dublin.
71kg: Aidan Walsh, Holy Family Golden Gloves BC, Belfast.
80kg: Kelyn Cassidy, Saviour’s Crystal, Waterford.
92+kg: Martin McDonagh, Galway Boxing Club.
