The first player to depart Waterford FC following promotion to the Premier Division is former Captain Killian Cantwell.
On Twitter on Thursday, the Kilkenny native said he was informed that he is not in the club's plans for next season.
Cantwell made a total of 26 appearances for the Blues this season (21 league games), scoring one goal and assisting twice.
Of his 21 games in the First Division, Cantwell started 19, coming off the bench twice.
He came off the bench in the playoff second leg with Athlone Town and then again in the promotion/relegation final with Cork City last weekend.
He joined the Blues last season from Athlone Town. In all, he made 58 appearances for the club since his arrival.
